Home a total loss after weekend fire

PETTYVILLE – No injuries were reported in an early morning fire Saturday in Pettyville, officials said.

The fire was reported around 3 a.m. Saturday and destroyed the house at 97 Manor Drive, Pettyville, said Jay Parsons, fire chief of the Mineral Wells Volunteer Fire Department.

“The fire was contained,” Parsons said. “It was a total loss with the water damage.”

No one was home at the time of the fire, Parsons said. The names of those living in the house were unavailable from fire officials.

The cause of the blaze is not known, officials said. Parsons said the fire is under investigation by the Wood County Fire Investigation Team.

Eastwood and Lubeck Volunteer Fire departments responded to assist with the fire, officials said.
