Vienna man faces charges

PARKERSBURG – A Vienna man was charged with battery and destruction of property following a fight Tuesday at a tire shop in Parkersburg, police said.

Officers were dispatched to Camden Avenue Tire, 3105 Camden Ave., where callers said a man was trying to get into a vehicle and claimed to have a knife, Sgt. Greg Collins, a spokesman for the Parkersburg Police Department, said.

The man was later identified as Brandon Scott Enoch, 22, 14 Lexington Trailer Park, Vienna. According to witnesses, he appeared to be under the influence of an unknown substance, claiming he was in fear for his life, Collins said. Enoch approached an employee and struck him in the mouth with a closed fist, Collins said.

Enoch left the area, but returned a short time later and threw a large rock through a window, Collins said. Enoch was apprehended by Officer D.D. Donaldson near the tire shop, Collins said.

Several witnesses saw the incident and Enoch was not known by any of the victims, Collins said. The victim of the battery suffered minor injuries to his mouth, Collins said.

Damage to the window was $400, Collins said. No knife was found, he said.

Enoch was processed without further incident on charges of battery and destruction of property. He was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court where he failed to post a $3,000 bond, Collins said.
