Police seek info on robbery

PARKERSBURG – On Wednesday at about 9:30 p.m., officers responded to Peoples Bank, 2107 Pike St., in reference to an alleged robbery.

Officers spoke to a 63-year-old Parkersburg woman who advised she was at the ATM inside her vehicle, when someone she didn’t know came from behind the machine, placed an unknown object against her neck and asked for money. The suspect grabbed a blue denim bag that was sitting on the woman’s lap and fled, police said.

The suspect reportedly ran to a silver four-door midsize sedan, possibly occupied by four young, white males. The victim could not provide any further information and was not injured, police said.

Officers were unable to locate the suspect or the vehicle.

Parkersburg police detectives are investigating the incident with examination of surveillance video from the area, police said.
