Officials add to pump station project
PARKERSBURG – The Parkersburg Utility Board will add more than $236,000 in sluice gate replacements to a multimillion dollar pump station renovation project.
The board Wednesday approved an additional $236,631.41 to overhaul pump stations at Agnes Street and First Avenue. The additional cost, which is covered with existing bond money for the project, will replace a broken sluice gate and several similar gates.
“They are all of the same vintage,” and will need replaced, said Utility Board Manager Eric Bennett.
The total cost of the renovation project is $3,825,631.41, he said, which includes installation of larger force mains from the Agnes Street booster station to the Depot Street station, increase pump sizes, changes in electrical service, piping and HVAC to get more water to the wastewater treatment plants during wet weather flows.
The Utility Board meets again at 9 a.m. Jan. 16 at the Utility Board Administration Building, 125 19th St.
