Man arrested on multiple charges

PARKERSBURG – On Wednesday at about 2:30 a.m. Parkersburg police officers responded to Go-Mart at 3001 Seventh St. in reference to a man with a gun.

James Patrick Summers, 21, of 3623 Packard St., Parkersburg, was arrested on charges of carrying a concealed weapon, brandishing a weapon, obstructing and disorderly conduct. Police said Summers refused to comply with the commands of officers to get on the ground after their arrival on scene.

He was forcibly taken to the ground and handcuffed, police said.

Once the suspect was in custody, officers located an air pistol that looked like a firearm tucked in the front waistband of the man’s pants, police said.

Summers was arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court Wednesday morning and was being held on a $3,500 bond, according to court records.
