Artsbridge announces start of fund drive
PARKERSBURG — The annual Artsbridge Fund Drive will kick off on Sunday.
Officials announced the start of the fundraising event Wednesday in a press release.
“We have had an exciting year with the growth and expansion of our ArtCart program and with the addition of new programs, Art Connections and The Canvas Project Art Gallery at Grand Central Mall,” Executive Director Amanda DeBarr Stevens said in the release. “Our ArtCart program is currently providing free in-school art classes in 18 elementary schools. We are living out our mission statement, ‘Igniting the Arts within the Mid-Ohio Valley.’ All funding we receive stays right here in our community.”
Stevens said Artsbridge has 10 active arts program, with a focus on arts education, as well as special shows and community events.
Artsbridge began in 1986 and has provided programming and events through the support of local individuals and businesses.
“In addition to our own programs, we collaborate with other community organizations in creating fun, artful events that help bring the Mid-Ohio Valley groups together,” Stevens said. “Our staff consists of Executive Director Amanda DeBarr Stevens, Arts Education Coordinator Kathy Reeder and Programs Coordinator Diane McDonald. We have a very active board and a team of volunteers that help make all of our programs possible. Our current board president is Dr. Dianne Davis.”
