Basement Sale

PARKERSBURG — A Basement Sale and Hot Dog Luncheon will be Friday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Stephenson United Methodist Church at 805 Liberty St., off of Seventh Street behind McClinton Chevrolet. Lunch is served 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Many items available such as decorative glassware, Christmas decorations, pre-lit Christmas tree, seasonal decorations, kitchen items and glassware, jewelry, bedding, books, video tapes, electronics and kitchen electronics, purses and various other items.


History program

MARIETTA — The next Brown Baggin’ Thru History program will be noon Friday at Campus Martius Museum. The program is free due to the support of the Washington County Public Library. The guest speaker is Andrew Richmond who will speak about “From Crocks to Jazz Bowls: 150 Years of Ohio Pottery.”


Reuben Dinner

PARKERSBURG — A reuben dinner will be 6 p.m. Friday at the Knights of Columbus, 1010 Market St. The event is open to the public. Takeout orders can be called to 304-428-0331.



PARKERSBURG — Elvis tribute artist Jim Forshey will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Al Smith Stage at Southwood Park. Admission is free.


Yard sale

BELPRE — The Belpre Historical Society will hold a yard sale from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the Annex at 509 Ridge St., behind Belpre Furniture.


PRIDEfest and Family Picnic

PARKERSBURG — Parkersburg Pride will host the second annual Pride Family Picnic and PRIDEfest from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday at City Park.

In celebration of LGBTQ+ Pride month, the group is hosting a family-friendly day of activities that are free and open to the general public.

Lunch will be served at 1 p.m. at no charge. The day’s activities will include performances by local musicians Back Porch Alibi and Sadie Johnson, along with the Actors Guild of Parkersburg’s cast of “La Cage Aux Folles.” Mistress of Ceremonies Lucy Lipps and drag artists from around the area will join in the festivities.

There will be games and craft activities for children and adults, prizes, and visits by special guests. There will be information booths with resources from area non-profits and businesses that support the LGBTQ+ community. The Mid-Ohio Valley Health Department will offer free Hepatitis A vaccines.


Mound Cemetery Tour

MARIETTA — The Mound Cemetery Tour will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Mound Cemetery, Fifth and Scammel streets. The cost is $8 and the tour begins at Mound Cemetery.

Visitors will take an interactive tour of Mound Cemetery and learn about just a few of the interesting men and women buried there from living history interpreters.


Ox Roast

BELLEVILLE — Pond Creek Volunteer Fire Department will hold its annual ox roast from 3-7 p.m. Saturday at the fire station at 6096 Pond Creek Road. The cost is $10 for adults, $6 for children ages 5-12 and free for ages 4 and under.


Youth Day

PARKERSBURG — The Mountain State Sportsmen’s Association will hold a Youth Day program from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at its club at 865 Hoagland Run Road.

The free program will have archery, bow fishing, casting, air rifle, muzzleloader demonstrations and other activities.


Moose Senior Dance and Dinner

PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Moose Lodge will host the monthly Senior Dance and Dinner from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the lodge on W.Va. 95.

The event is open to all area seniors 55 and older at no charge. Music will be primarily from the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Dinner served to all attending. For more information call the Moose Lodge at 304-422-6176.
