Ellison to perform

PARKERSBURG — John Ellison, a 2015 West Virginia Music Hall of Fame inductee, will be performing at 7 p.m. Friday at Ohio Valley Rowing Club in Parkersburg.

Ellison wrote the song “Some Kind of Wonderful.” The show will be outside along the Ohio River, near the Memorial Bridge, if the weather cooperates. If it rains, the show will be moved indoors to the boathouse.

RAVENSWOOD — R. Douglass Chapter No. 15 Order of the Eastern Star will hold its annual yard sale and hot dog sale from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. today at 401 S. Ritchie Ave., Ravenswood.



PARKERSBURG — A fish and shrimp dinner will be 6 p.m. Friday at the Knights of Columbus, 1010 Market St. in downtown Parkersburg.

Antique Engine Festival

CAIRO — The Engines and Wheels Festival will be 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday at North Bend State Park near Cairo.

Admission is free. There will be demonstration, concessions and vendors.

Visitors can experience old fashioned machines and learn how the engines, wheels, and antique mechanisms became the workhorses of a generation, fulfilling the demands of a growing nation. Local engine and wheels enthusiasts will be on hand displaying their knowledge of the equipment and the mechanisms that make it work.
