BARLOW — The Friends of the Barlow Library will sponsor a music concert by Johnny Staats Trio at 7 p.m. Friday at the Barlow Library. The event is free and open to the public.
Children’s Tour and Program
PARKERSBURG — A new Children’s Tour and Program at the Blennerhassett Mansion will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday on Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park. It is for children in third, fourth and fifth grades accompanied by a parent with hands-on learning activities. Cost is standard boat trip and Mansion entrance fees. PARKERSBURG — American Legion Post 15 – 40/8 – will hold a spaghetti dinner from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the post home at 2505 Ohio Ave. in the traffic circle. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children. The event is open to the public. Plan B will perform from 7-11 p.m.
LOWELL — A strip steak or chicken dinner will be 5-8 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 750. Eat-in and carry-out are available. A youth group will be selling dessert.
LUBECK — The Books, Burgers and Crafts Sale will be 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Lubeck United Methodist Church , 1771 Harris Highway. Lunch will be served. Admission is free.
PARKERSBURG — The Hamilton National Junior Honors Society will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Hamilton Middle School on Cadillac Drive.
Model Train Open House
PARKERSBURG — The Mid-Ohio Valley Model Railroad Club will host its annual Spring Open House from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the club facility, located in the rear basement of NOE Office Equipment at 610 Green Street. Model trains will be running on detailed layouts in HO, N, S, O and G scales and a drawing will be conducted for an HO train set. Concessions will be available for purchase and parking and admission are free.
CAIRO — The Cairo Jamboree will be Saturday at the Cairo Community Building. Doors open at 5 p.m. and music starts at 5:30 p.m. The Cairo T-Ball team will be selling concessions.
Third Sunday Dinner
CUTLER — The Third Sunday Dinner will be noon to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Cutler Community Center, 4550 Two Mile Run Road. The dinner is hosted by the Decatur Community Association and includes penne pasta, a drink and a homemade dessert. Admission is $7 for adults and $4 for children. Proceeds benefit the Cutler Community Center.
MARIETTA — The annual strawberry festival fundraiser sponsored by the First Congregational Church, 318 Front St., is scheduled 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the church. The menu is a sandwich, chips, drink and either strawberry or peach shortcake. A bake sale will be held. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children under 7.
MARIETTA — The Mid-Ohio Valley Junior Players will hold auditions for “The Nifty Fifties” at 6 p.m. May 19-21 at Players Theatre, Third and Putnam streets. The auditions are for ages 8-16. Please bring a summer schedule to show when you will be available.
LUBECK — Lubeck Senior Citizens and friends will hold a covered dish luncheon at noon May 21 at Lubeck United Methodist Church.
MARIETTA — The Marietta Tractor Supply store is bringing makers, bakers, producers and businesses together for a community-wide, family-friendly event on Saturday.
From 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., the store will host its annual Market Day event featuring local vendors and their homemade and homegrown goods. Market Day is a free event, featuring items such as crafts, candles, produce, baked goods, in tents outside the Tractor Supply store at 100 Cherry Tree Lane.
This year’s vendors and community partners include: Let Us Chalk Your World, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Uncle Dan’s Old Fashioned Ice Cream, LLC, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Tammy’s “HandCrafted” Pearls and More, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
