Mountwood Park to host Woof Fest on Sunday

File Photo Shamrock, a Border Collie, runs through the obstacle course set up during last year’s Woof Fest at Mountwood Park.

VOLCANO — For more than a decade, Mountwood Park has been going to the dogs on a special Sunday each year.

This year, the 11th annual Woof Fest will be noon to 4 p.m. Sunday, presented by the Friends of Mountwood Park.

Woof Fest features activities, contests, demonstrations, dock dogs, vendors, raffles, giveaways and other activities for dogs and their two-footed friends. There will be a 1.5 mile fun run, a Blessing of the Animals, contests for look-alikes, tail wagging, costumes and pageants for pets and young girls.

There will also be a variety of vendors.

Proceeds benefit Mountwood Park and the dog park located there.
