Purse Bingo

PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg High School A Cappella Choir will sponsor a Vera Bradley Purse Bingo 5:30 p.m. Friday in the high school cafeteria. The event is a fundraiser for the choir’s participation in April in a competition in New York City. New 2019 spring patterns and styles will be available. Cost is $20 for 20 games. Bingo starts at 6:30 p.m. An early bird drawing for advance tickets, concessions, door prizes, raffles and a 50-50 drawing will be available. Big Band Dance

PARKERSBURG — The Big Band Valentine Ballroom Dance will be held 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Stout Memorial United Methodist Church gym, 34th and Broad streets. Tickets are $25 a couple with dressy attire. Bring light snacks and non-alcoholic drinks.

Hot Wheels/Die Cast Car Show

VIENNA — A Hot Wheels and die cast show will be held from noon to 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Jackson Park Community Building. Admission is $5 for adults with kids getting in free. All proceeds will go to St. Jude’s research in Huntington.

Youth Valentine Dance

LUBECK — A community youth Valentine Dance will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lubeck Civic Center. Admission is $3. Refreshments will be available. PARKERSBURG — A Daddy-Daughter Dance will be held from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at Parkersburg Catholic High School, 3201 Fairview Ave. Admission is $20 per couple and $5 for each additional daughter. Genealogy Seminar

PARKERSBURG — The Capt. James Neal Chapter Sons of the American Revolution will hold a genealogy seminar 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at the Parkersburg and Wood County Public Library. Speakers will be Robert Fish and Mark Rhodes. Fish will speak about WikiTree, an ancestral research tool with the objective of creating a family tree of the world. The free and fully functional program will allow the user to import or load a tree with DNA results and search and provide sources, where available. Fish, national genealogy committee chairman for the Sons of the American Revolution, will have suggestions on the use of the WikiTree. Rhodes, county clerk of Wood County, will discuss documents available at the courthouse and discuss what is available on the website.

PARKERSBURG — OUTlandish Bingo and Drag Show will be held from 5-9 p.m. Saturday at the Dils Center. Tickets for the event are sold out. Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Lucy Lipps will be the mistress of ceremonies and regional performers will take part. Concessions available with proceeds to benefit Parkersburg Pride.

Gunmakers Show

MARIETTA — The Contemporary Gunmakers and Allied Artists Show will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Campus Martius Museum for the price of museum admission. It will feature the work of several dozen traditional craftsmen who work in the manner of the 18th and 19th century, including horn makers, hunting bag makers, leather workers, tinsmithing, cabinet making and other allied trades. Moose Senior Dance and Dinner

PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Moose Lodge will host the monthly Senior Dance and Dinner on Sunday, Feb. 10 from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the lodge. Habitat Auction

MARIETTA — The 19th annual Habitat MOV Paul L. Callihan Auction will be held Friday at the Marietta Shrine Club.

The doors will open at and the silent auction begins at 5:30 with dinner at 6:15 and the live auction at 7:15 pm. The Marietta Shrine Club is located at 249 Pennsylvania Ave.

There will be 125 items auctioned this year, including two sets of tickets to see “Chicago” at the Peoples Bank Theatre in Marietta, Reds vs. Pirates tickets, and a speaking engagement by Jessica Lynch.

Dinner will be provided by Cowboy Concessions and will include a choice of prime rib, chicken breast or vegetable lasagna. People will select their dinner option when they arrive. A cash bar will be available.

Habitat is currently building two houses with additional homes expected later this year.

Heidi and Eric Gandee will be the speakers this year. The couple recently finished rehabilitating a house through Habitat at 5984 State Route 26 outside Marietta. They will be speaking about their experiences becoming homeowners through Habitat and what it means to them.

Organizers are expecting around 200 people for the dinner, said Robin Stewart, director of resource development for Habitat for Humanity of the Mid-Ohio Valley.
