Christmas Concert

ATHENS — The Local Girls will perform their annual Community Christmas Concert at the Southeast Ohio History Center on Sunday at 3:30 p.m.

The Local Girls, featuring Mimi Hart, Gay Dalzell and Brenda Catania, will be joined by special guest, local singer and songwriter Bruce Dalzell.

Wine Express

NELSONVILLE, Ohio — Stuart’s Opera House is presenting the Winter Wine Express on the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Enjoy some wine and cheese and other treats while taking a ride through the Hocking Valley. This is a fundraiser for Stuart’s Opera House. The train leaves promptly at 7 p.m. from the Nelsonville Depot at 33 Canal Street.

Elvis concert

HARRISVILLE — Elvis tribute artist Jim Forshey will perform “A Very Elvis Christmas “ at 6 p.m. Friday at the gym.

Admission is $6. Local Elvis tribute artist Hank Poole will also be performing. The show will have a Christmas theme with many of Elvis’ sounds of the season performed.


A Cappella Choir

PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg High School A Cappella Choir has a couple of holiday events scheduled.

The choir will present its annual Christmas Caroling from 6-8 p.m. Friday at locations in Parkersburg and Vienna.

The annual Christmas Concert will be 7 p.m. Dec. 17 in the PHS Auditorium. Doors open at 6 p.m. and admission is free.


Backstage Evening

NELSONVILLE — Stuart’s Opera House is presenting an all-Backstage Evening with Steve Poltz on Friday at 8 p.m.

This is an evening of music with singer, songwriter and storyteller Steve Poltz, and sit right on the stage at Stuart’s.

“He can take an unsuspecting audience from laughter to tears and back again in the space of a single song.” Poltz has a career of solo recordings, albums with his old band The Rugburns, plays over 220 shows a year and co-wrote the hit “You Were Meant For Me” by Jewel.

Spaghetti Dinner

PARKERSBURG — American Legion Post 15 – 40&8 — will hold a spaghetti dinner from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the post home at 2505 Ohio Ave. in the traffic circle.

The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children. The event is open to the public. Music will be provided by Band of Brothers.



PARKERSBURG — The Lubeck Senior Citizens and Friends will hold a luncheon at noon Dec. 18 at Golden Corral on Murdoch Avenue.
