Indoor tennis tournament helps Red Cross

VIENNA — Greenmont Racquet Club will be conducting a charity indoor tennis tournament with proceeds going to support the American Red Cross.

It will be held Jan. 4, 5 and 6, 2019, at the Greenmont Racquet Club in Vienna. This is a non-sanctioned event designed to provide local tennis players of every level a chance to compete. This tournament is open to adults and juniors of all tennis abilities. There will be singles and doubles events. The format will be a one set non-elimination format.

Adult categories are: tournament men’s singles (4.0 and higher), advanced men’s singles (no higher than 3.5 or not rated), tournament men’s doubles (4.0 and higher), advanced men’s doubles (no higher than 3.5 or not rated), advanced women’s singles, advanced women’s doubles, intermediate women’s doubles and low intermediate women’s (no higher than 3.0 or not rated), advanced mixed doubles and intermediate mixed doubles. Junior divisions will have 18 and under singles and doubles, 14 and under singles and doubles in both boys and girls divisions.

The entry fee is $25 for singles and $50 per team for doubles. Each player may enter a maximum of three events. Entry forms are available at the Greenmont Racquet Club or on its website greenmontracquetclub.net.

The deadline for entry is Jan. 2 at 6 p.m. Entries should be mailed to Greenmont Racquet Club, 816 55th St., Vienna, WV 26105. Contact tournament director John Barr at 304-295-9621 for more information.
