PARKERSBURG — WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center and the Camden Clark Medical Center Foundation Thursday held their annual Lighting the Way tree lighting and luminaria ceremony.

The 10th annual event is an evening of honoring and remembering loved ones this time of year. Each candle has been sponsored in memory of many individuals throughout the community.

The evening began with holiday music by flutist Melissa Herceg with Marsha Parsons accompanying on the piano.

The Smoot Theatre Children’s Chorus also performed under the direction of Barbara Full with Parsons on the piano. Special music was provided by Reinnie Leavitt, director of cancer services, and Dock Cutlip, director of biomedical engineering.

The luminaria dedication and closing remarks were presented by Kim Couch, executive director of the WVU Medicine Camden Clark Foundation, and Steve Altmiller, president and CEO of WVU Medicine CCMC. Altmiller said the event raised funds for the cancer transportation fund.
