Concert
VIENNA — The Ohio Valley University Performing Arts Series will present Bobby Maynard and Breakdown at 6 p.m. today at Roberts Chapel on the OVU Campus, 1 Campus View Drive. The event is free and open to the public. Donations of non-perishable food items for the OVU Food Pantry will be accepted. For over 30 years, Maynard has played the music that he loves on banjo, fiddle, guitar, mandolin, and bass, He has produced three solo CDs, “Gospel Pickin,” “It’s What I Do,” and “Holly Jolly Pickin’.”

Military Veterans Ball
VIENNA — The organization We Have Your Six Inc. will be holding its first Military Veterans Ball on Friday at Grand Pointe Conference Center. Doors open at 6 p.m. The event is open to the public. Tickets are $35 per person. Dress is formal with black suit and tie, tuxedos, gowns, dresses and dancing shoes. Meals and entertainment will be provided. For more information, call 304-966-2040.

The Castle program
MARIETTA — The Castle will be holding an Armistice Centennial Program “There Was Quiet Today” 100 Years After WWI on Saturday. The Castle will be holding a Cemetery Tour: WWI at Oak Grove at 10 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery. Admission is $8 per person.
The other program on Saturday will be “1918 at The Castle” with tours at 1, 2, 3 and 4 p.m. Admission is $18 per person and $6 for members and students.
The Castle was the home of Mrs. Lucy Davis and her daughter Jessie Davis Lindsay 100 years ago as the First World War was coming to a close. The tour will be led by one of the 1918 era visitors, neighbors, servants, or even one of the owners themselves.

Craft show
MINERAL WELLS — The Chesterville Church Ladies Aide is sponsoring a Holiday Craft Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Mineral Wells Elementary School. Admission is $1 and there will be prizes awarded.

Pancake dinner
BELPRE — The Belpre Lions Club will hold a pancake dinner from 4-7 p.m. Saturday at 2113 Murray St. The cost is $6 with children under 5 free.

PARKERSBURG — The Women’s Ministry of the 19th Street Church of God will hold its annual craft show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the church on 19th Street.
There will be crafts, food and raffle drawings for door prizes. Admission is free.

CUTLER — Longaberger Basket Bingo will be held Saturday at the Cutler Community Center, 4550 Two Mile Run Road. Doors open at 11 a.m. and bingo begins at noon.
There will be concessions, raffles and drawings.

Moose Senior Dance and Dinner
PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Moose Lodge will host its monthly Senior Dance and Dinner from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the lodge on W.Va. 95. The event is open to all area seniors 55 and older at no charge. Dress is casual.

Auditions
MARIETTA — The Mid-Ohio Valley Players will hold audition for its production of “Same Time Next Year” from 6:30-9 p.m. Nov. 11, 12 and 13 at Players Theatre, 229 Putnam St. The cast needs one man and one woman. The director is Leslie McGoron.

PARKERSBURG — The 30th annual American Sampler Craft Show will be 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at West Virginia University at Parkersburg in the multi-purpose room. The Humane Society of Parkersburg will be special guests at the event. There will be a bake/hot dog sale and raffle. Proceeds will go to the Staff Council Activities Fund.
