Parkersburg Choral Society to hold fall concert

PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Choral Society will kick off its 2018-2019 season with the Fall Concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church on Juliana Street in Parkersburg.

Admission to the concert is free to the public with donations accepted at the door.

Following the concert, all in attendance are invited to attend a reception and mingle with the musicians.

Selections for the fall concert will range in genres. Some of the selections for the concert will be “Flight Song” by Kim Andre Arnesen, “And Sure Stars Shining…” by Z. Randall Stroope, “Illumina” by Patrick Hawes, “Let the River Run” arranged by Craig Hella Johnson,“From Earth to Heaven” by Craig Courtney, “Silly Ditties” by Norman Luboff, as well as a few others.

Since 1888, the Parkersburg Chorals Society has been performing for the Mid-Ohio Valley. Members range in age and experience, but all volunteer their time to come together and create music with one another. The Parkersburg Choral Society is under the direction of Luke Zyla and accompanied by David Nuss.

The group is supported entirely by donations from audience members and music lovers around the Mid-Ohio Valley.
