PARKERSBURG — The Ohio Valley University Theatre Department will present “Alice Revisits Wonderland” this weekend at the OVU Erickson Theatre on College Parkway.

The show will be performed at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 2:30 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 per person.

The play is written and directed by Dr. Maureen Modisett, one of the professors at OVU. It is about a young writer named Lew who decides to enter a playwriting contest in New York; his plan is to reinvent “Alice in Wonderland” and to experiment with a YoutTube production.

Lew asks Lacie, a local college thespian, her sister Tillie, an engineering student, and John, a graduate student and expert in Victorian fantasy, to assist him. Unfortunately, some residents of Wonderland such as the Cheshire Cat, Dormouse, Bunny, Mock Turtle, Duchess, and Alice herself break through into Lew’s garage to show their disapproval of his project, leading to chaos.

The cast includes Lindsay Bitgood as Lacie; Brandon Brammer as Cheshire Cat; Nathan Eddy as John; Todd Grocey as Dormouse; Chris Hummel as Lew; Shae Mavor as Stage Manager; Choe Rogers at Tillie; Brenda Sears as Mock Turtle; Catie Sellers as Alice; Serena Zacour as The Dutchess; and Zephra Payne as White Rabbit.
