Wine Train

NELSONVILLE, Ohio — Stuart’s Opera House in Nelsonville presents the Fall Wine Express on the Hocking Valley Scenic Railway on Saturday at 6 p.m. This is a fundraiser for Stuart’s Opera House with wine and cheese and other treats during a ride through the Hocking Valley. Leaves at 6 p.m. from Nelsonville Depot, 33 Canal St., in a renovated historic train car with cushioned bench seats. Haunted Schoolhouse

MINERAL WELLS — The ninth annual New Era One Room School Haunted School House will be held the next two weekends at Mineral Wells Elementary School. The program will be 6:30-11 p.m. Friday and Saturday and Oct. 26 and 27 at the school on W.Va. 14 in Mineral Wells. Admission is $3 and includes the haunted school and haunted train ride. Children under 4 will be admitted free. There will be Halloween exhibits and displays, spooky storytelling, refreshments and gifts. A new addition to this year’s activities will be a haunted train ride.

Pancake Breakfast

WASHINGTON, W.Va. — The Washington Lions Club will hold a pancake and sausage breakfast from 8-11 a.m. Saturday at the Washington Community Building on Dupont Road in Washington Bottom. Tickets are $5 and are available at the door or in advance from Parkersburg South High School Southern Belles. Proceeds will benefit the PSHS Southern Belles.

Craft show

VIENNA — The ViBaChu Crafters of the Vienna Baptist Church will be hold its 30th annual Craft Bazaar from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Vienna Baptist Church on Grand Central Avenue. The Crafters meet each Wednesday and Thursday all year long to hand craft items for this sale. There is a variety of items for all holidays as well as baby items and much more. All proceeds from this event go back into the Church for Church needs.

Cairo Jamboree

CAIRO — The Cairo Jamboree will be Saturday at the Cairo Community Building. Doors open at 5 p.m. with registration for time slots to play music. Music starts at 5:30 p.m. Concessions will be by Cairo Cubs. Admission is free but donations will be accepted. The house band is Harold Vincent and the Country Road Runners and the special guest band will be Pickin’ and Grinnin’.

PARKERSBURG — Federally Employed Women will be holding Bingo Bash on Saturday at the Parkersburg Moose Lodge on W.Va. 95. Doors open at noon and bingo starts at 1:30 p.m. The cost is $20 in advance and $25 at the door; only 200 tickets will be sold. There will be gifts, prizes and door prizes.

PARKERSBURG — American Legion Post 15 will hold a spaghetti dinner from 6-8 p.m. Saturday at the post home at 2505 Ohio Ave. in the traffic circle. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children. The event is open to the public.

ATV Poker Run

VOLCANO — An ATV Poker Run to benefit the American Cancer Society will be Saturday at Mountwood Park off U.S. 50 east of Parkersburg. Tickets are $25 for adults and $10 for children ages 6-12. There will be cas prizes, a four-hour rides form 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., access to Mountwood’s ATV Park, dinner, music and children’s activities.
