VIENNA — The eighth annual WV Mountaineer Tail-waggin’ Tailgate Party fundraiser for the Humane Society of Parkersburg is 5-10 p.m. Saturday at Dils Riverfront Park in Vienna.

The popular event has been attended by over 400 guests in past years. There will be $7,000 in prizes, a chance to win $3,000, raffles, auctions and a dinner catered by Davinci’s restaurant of Williamstown.

Some of the auction items are a Wincore windows and door package, clubhouse tickets to the Pittsburgh Steelers/Atlanta Falcons game on Oct. 7, paintings by Amy Ocasio and a signed WVU football helmet by coach Dana Holgorsen.

For the cost of $125, two people are admitted to the fundraiser.

The 2018 tailgate is the final one to support the PAWS Project, which is bringing renovations and additions to the animal shelter, Humane Society officials said. The organization has been raising money for five years for these improvements.

Plans call for construction to begin this fall at the animal shelter.

Contact the Humane Society’s animal shelter, Jon Six Salon, Buttermore’s Jewelers and Humane Society Board and Spot Committee members for tailgate party tickets.

The Humane Society of Parkersburg is celebrating its 60th Anniversary this year.
