Krinock achieves Eagle Scout rank
PARKERSBURG — Christian Krinock, 18, a Boy Scout with Parkersburg Troop 4 and a senior at Parkersburg High School, was awarded the Eagle Scout Award.
The ceremony was held at St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
“The Eagle Scout Award is the highest honor in Scouting,” said Rachel Hupp, the scoutmaster of Troop 4.
According to Hupp, to earn the Eagle Scout Award, a Scout must earn 21 merit badges.
“Krinock earned badges for Geocaching, swimming, reptiles and amphibians, citizenship in the community, communication, family life, personal management, cooking, first aid, emergency preparation, citizenship in the national, citizenship in the world, environmental sciences, soil and water conversions, camping, geology, Indian lore, personal fitness, art, pets and forestry,” said Hump.
Hupp said that Krinock has been with Troop 4 since the sixth grade.
Christian’s Eagle Project was at Jefferson Elementary School, painting its octagon and hallways.
“He really wanted to do something for the community and Jefferson was still looking for people to help paint,” said Hupp.
Since first being charted with the Boy Scouts of America in the Mid-Ohio Valley 101 years ago, Troop 4 has awarded more than 200 Scouts with the Eagle Scout Award.
