Williamstown Ice Cream Social

WILLIAMSTOWN — The 74th annual Williamstown Volunteer Fire Department Ice Cream Social will be 6 p.m. Friday at Tomlinson Park. There will be hot dogs, pop, coffee, popcorn, cakes, pies and ice cream. A limited number of half-gallon ice cream containers will be available for sale. Proceeds benefit the Williamstown VFD, including new equipment and upgrades.

Vienna Family Fun activities

VIENNA — The Vienna Family Fun Weekend activities will be Friday and Saturday at Spencer Park. There will be a band performing from 7-9 p.m. Friday. On Saturday, there will be kids activities from 10 a.m. to noon, foam fun and a DJ from 7-8:30 p.m. and a movie from 9-10:30 p.m.

Hot dog supper

LUBECK — Wood County Emergency Communications is holding a hot dog supper from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lubeck Civic Center, 275 Lubeck Road, behind Lubeck Elementary School. The cost is $6 and includes two hot dogs, baked beans, chips, drink and dessert. All proceeds go towards purchasing and maintaining emergency radio equipment.

Spaghetti Dinner

PARKERSBURG — The Veterans Museum of the Mid-Ohio Valley in Parkersburg is having a spaghetti dinner for $5 from 1-5 p.m. Saturday at VFW Post 1212 on Garfield Avenue. There will be a raffle of items and a 50/50 drawing.

Ohio Valley Opry

MCCONNELSVILLE — Country singer Dion Pride will be the special guest on the Saturday show at the Ohio Valley Opry at the Twin City Opera House. The show starts at 6 p.m. and doors open at 5 p.m. Tickets are available at the door or by calling 740-525-9218. Dion Pride is the son of the legendary Charlie Pride and is a dynamic performer in his own right. He performs his father’s hits along with original works. The show will also feature OVO regulars The Clark Family, Matt Coleman, Beth Sigler-Bigham, Mike Morrison, and comedian Uncle Doofus.

Cairo Jamboree

CAIRO — The Cairo Jamboree will be 5:30 p.m. Saturday at the community building. Doors open at 5 p.m. with registration for time slots to play music. Concessions will be sold by Cairo Cubs. The event is free but donations will be accepted.

Auditions

MARIETTA — Auditions for a sequel to last season’s Mid-Ohio Valley Players production of “Ladies of Harmony” will be 6:30 p.m. July 23-24 at the Mid Ohio Valley Players theater annex, upstairs at 227 Putnam St. The show, written by Ron Hill, requires two men and two women who can play 40-somethings. Production dates will be Sept. 21, 22, 28, 29 at 8 p.m. and Sept. 23 and 30 at 3 p.m. The director is Rod Poling.

History camp

PARKERSBURG — The Blennerhassett Island Historical State Park still has openings for its history camp program from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 23-27. For ages 8-12, the cost for camp is $145 per camper. This fee includes all supplies, snacks, lunches, and programs.
