West Virginia Interstate Fair and Exposition continues through Saturday

MINERAL WELLS — The 2018 West Virginia Interstate Fair and Exposition continues today through Saturday with live entertainment, activities, carnival rides and other attractions on Butcher Bend Road near Mineral Wells.

The fair also features track events for ATVs, trucks and tractors, youth and 4-H activities and competitions.

Admission is $9 today and $10 Friday and Saturday. Armed Forces Day is today when active military personnel are admitted free with an active duty or active reserve duty military ID.

Carnival rides are free with the purchase of an admission ticket.

Carnival hours are 4-11 p.m. today and Friday and 1-11 p.m. Saturday.

The schedule of activities includes:

TODAY

* 9 a.m.: Jr. Dairy Goat Showmanship (Livestock Area); Jr. Dairy Goat Show Immediately Following; Jr. Dairy Cow Showmanship Immediately Following; Jr. Dairy Cow Show Immediately Following

* 10 a.m.: Jr. Rabbit Showmanship (Livestock Area); Open Beef Registration (Livestock Area)

* 2 p.m.: Ticket Gates Open; Pretty Baby Registration (0-12 months)

* 3 p.m.: Pretty Baby Contest (0-12 months)

* 4 p.m.: Diaper Derby Registration (Open Shelter); Diaper Derby (Ages 0-12 months) (Immediately following Pretty Baby contest); Mud Bog Registration; Carnival Opens

* 5:30 p.m.: Pet Parade

* 6 p.m.: Jr. Beef Showmanship (Livestock Area); Jr. Beef Show (Livestock Area)

* 7 p.m.: Thunderstruck – The Ultimate AC/DC Tribute Band (Main Stage); Mud Bog (Track Area)

* 11 p.m.: Fairgrounds Close

FRIDAY

* 9 a.m.: 4-H Horse Show- All Divisions (Showmanship Classes First)

* 10:30 a.m.: Open Beef Show

* Noon: Ticket Gates Open

* 1 p.m.: Pedal Tractor Pull (Fairboard Office); 4-H Dog Show

* 2:30 p.m.: Hay Bale Throw, Skillet Toss Registration (Fair Office)

* 3 p.m.: Hay Bale Throw, Skillet Toss

* 4 p.m.: Watermelon Eating, Bubble Gum Blowing Registration (Fair Office); Carnival Opens

* 4:30 p.m.: Watermelon Eating Contest; Immediately followed by Bubble Gum Blowing Contest

* 5 p.m.: Mud Bog Registration; ATV Drag Racing Registration (ATV Track Area)

* 7 p.m.: Band of Brothers (Main Stage); Mud Bog (Track Area)

* 8:30 p.m.: Exile (Main Stage)

* 11 p.m.: Fairgrounds Close

SATURDAY

* 10 a.m.: Ticket Gates Open; Garden Tractor Pulls

* Noon: Junior Livestock Sale; Spitting Contest (Fair Office)
