PARKERSBURG — The Mike Penn art exhibit may be viewed through the month of June at WesBanco Bank, 415 Market St., in downtown Parkersburg.

The exhibit is open during regular business hours of Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Penn was a new contributor to the Senior Centers group art exhibit at WesBanco in 2015 before his solo exhibit this month. He has been painting for over 30 years and does two-dimensional art.

Penn attended the University of Minnesota School of the Studio Arts, but is basically a self-taught artist. He exhibited at the Parkersburg Art Center and has had a solo exhibit at Artsbridge.

“I do the history of Parkersburg in oil, watercolors, pencil, pen and ink, and occasionally acrylic,” said Penn.

The exhibit will feature oil on canvas: “The Wayside,” “Baltimore & Ohio Railroad #905,” “Warning” and “Abandoned Ohio Mine Tunnel”; pen & ink: “Rites of Passage” and “PHS ’29”; watercolor: “Virginia Apartments, 1916,” “Let’s Be Friends” (Point Park); and many more local attractions.

“Just me doing what I love doing, where I love doing it, doing it with and for the people of Parkersburg — the city I love,” he said.
