MARIETTA — The Trillium Piano Trio will be performing in concert at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in Graham Auditorium at Washington State Community College.

The performance in The Evergreen Arts & Humanities Series at Washington State Community College is in collaboration with the Washington State Foundation and the Schwendeman Agency Inc. This event is sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. Mark Nutter.

WSCC is located at 710 Colegate Drive in Marietta. Doors open at 7 p.m. Admission is free, but seating is limited.

Pianist William Buelow, longtime music professor and department chairman at Marietta College, returns to Marietta to perform a chamber music recital. He will be joined by cellist Cynthia Puls and violinist David Puls of Parkersburg.

The group will perform Felix Mendelssohn’s Piano Trio, No. 1, opus 49, Faure Piano Trio No. 1, opus 120, and an arrangement of Gabriel Faure’s Dolly Suite.

Buelow is leaving his retirement in Tennessee to play this piano trio recital, said Cynthia Puls. He has interrupted a life filled with hiking, kayaking, composing, painting and wood turning to prepare one of Felix Mendelssohn’s most enduring pieces, his Piano Trio 1 in d minor, Puls said.

“The program is completed by a tuneful suite of birthday gifts to a friend’s young daughter and Piano Trio No. 1 by Gabriel Faure,” she said. Cynthia and David Puls have been traveling south to rehearse this program over the last six months.
