Campus Martius Museum plans March events

MARIETTA — The Campus Martius Museum will host a pair of special events during the month of March.

The museum will hold a Mystery Dinner Theatre at 6:30 p.m. March 9 and 10.

Tickets are $60 per person and reservations are required by March 2. Doors open at 6 p.m. More information is available by calling 740-373-3750.

The event will feature a different theme each night. On March 9, the theme is “SpeakEasy of Murder!”

Mobster and bootlegger Danny “Lucky” Campisano hosts the Grand Opening of his new 1928 Speak Easy “Lucky’s” for friends and associates. He has ordered a special case of illegal gin just for the occasion. Everyone’s dying to attend this Party! Roaring ’20s attire Optional.

On March 10, the dinner is “A Murderous Match Game!” based on the 1970s TV game show “Match Game.” Attendees will step back in time with a hilarious rendition featuring the celebrities of the period, along with a case of murder. Attire from the 1970s is optional.

The other March event is a “Girls Night Out” Sleepover from 6 p.m. March 23 to 8 a.m. March 24 at Campus Martius Museum/

The cost is $30 per girl and $10 per adult. Reservations are requested by March 2 by calling 740-373-3750.

The event will feature fun activities for girls from second through fifth grades. The girls do not have to be a Girl Scout to attend, however,activities that Brownie and Junior Girl Scouts can apply towards badges will include: Playing the Past, Animal Habitats, Celebrating Community and Letterboxing.

The cost includes all activities, a Campus Martius Museum patch, pizza, snacks, and beverages. Girls must have adult chaperone accompany them. For example, for every one to five girls attending, one adult must attend the sleepover.
