Wood County boy taking Elvis tribute to Charleston

VIENNA — Hank Poole, 12, of Wood County will be bringing his Elvis tribute performance to the Charleston Civic Center on Friday night.

Poole, a seventh-grader at Jackson Middle School in Vienna, will be performing at 9:05 p.m. Friday in the showcase portion of the West Virginia Association of Fairs and Festivals Convention in Charleston.

Poole is scheduled to perform his Elvis Presley tribute for about 18 minutes and will feature six Elvis songs, said his father, Bill Poole of Vienna.

Hank has been performing as an Elvis tribute artist since the age of 6.

Among his awards are first place in the youth division at Collingwood Elvis Festival in Ontario, Canada, in July 2014, and second place in youth division at Branson Elvis Festival in Branson, Mo., in March 2015. Poole has performed six times at the Graceland Elvis Week in Memphis and six times at Elvis Birthplace Theater in Tupelo, Miss.

His local performances include the Wayne County Fall Fest in Wayne, W.Va., Apple Butter Festival in Salem, W.Va., Sagebrush Roundup in Fairmont and the Harvest Moon Festival in Parkersburg.

He is the son of Bill Poole of Vienna and Samantha Davis of North Hills.
