Williamstown tree lighting today at 6:30 p.m.

WILLIAMSTOWN — The city of Williamstown will light the town’s official Christmas tree in a ceremony scheduled for 6:30 p.m. today at the city building.

Following the greetings by Mayor Jean Ford, the invocation will be presented by the Revs. David Calvert of the First United Methodist Church, Elizabeth Campbell Meleke of the Presbyterian Church of Waverly, Steve Thibault of Evergreen Faith Bible Church and Joe Webb of Sand Hill United Methodist Church.

Music will be provided by the Williamstown High School Band, Williamstown High School Choir, Williamstown Elementary School Choir and Williamstown Christian School Choir.

The benediction will be delivered by the Revs. Michael Hannen of the Williams Creek Baptist Church, Bryan Knight of the Pine Grove Baptist Church and Scott McClure of the First Baptist Church.

Cookies and hot chocolate will be served in council chambers following the ceremony.
