Taste of Valley slated for Saturday
PARKERSBURG — The annual Taste of the Valley cooking show will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the Parkersburg South High School Auditorium.
The cooking show is organized and presented by The Parkersburg News and Sentinel. Tickets are available for the two-hour event featuring Chef Chad Winebrenner of the Grand Pointe Conference Center. Winebrenner will use winning recipes from the annual Cookbook contest held by The News and Sentinel.
VIP tickets are $50 each and come with preferred parking spaces, preferred seats and a hors d’oeuvres reception that will be attended by Winebrenner.
Regular tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door on the day of the show. Tickets can be purchased at The Parkersburg News and Sentinel on Juliana Street, The Marietta Times on Channel Lane, online at the newspapers’ site and at area Foodlands. Ticket buyers are automatically entered into the gift raffle.
Foodland will provide the ingredients for the Taste of the Valley and Aaron’s will provide the kitchen appliances.
The event also benefits the Comfort Keepers’ Feed Seniors Now program. People who bring a food donation will be entered into a raffle to win a $50 Foodland card. Sponsors are Foodland, Grand Pointe, Aaron’s, Value City Furniture and Comfort Keepers. It will be preceded by a Vendors Expo featuring 17 businesses and organizations.
