Marietta bar crawl focuses on 18th Century drinks
MARIETTA — People will be able to sample drinks from the 18th-19th century during the “Marietta’s Finest Top Shelf History — An 1800s History Themed Bar Crawl” Nov. 9 at 6 p.m.
Organizers asked what did Rufus Putnam and his buddies enjoy when they needed a drink.
”Take your taste buds on a journey back in time to Marietta’s settlement with this exciting, new event called Top Shelf History,” they said in a press release.
All proceeds from this event go to support Marietta Main Street and The Castle in Marietta.
Participants will be able to sample popular adult beverages hearkening back to 1780 through this bar crawl experience. The stops will be The Galley, Marietta Wine Cellars Inc., The River Town Grill, Over the Moon Pub & Pizza, Town House and Gator’s Easy Wind Pub.
Organizers said examples of historical drink samples you may enjoy this evening include a Spirits Flight (whiskey, rum, brandy); Wine Flight (red wine, port, wine bitters); Fish House Punch, Champagne Punch, Cordials, a drink called “Flip,” etc. “We’ll announce each drink special to be featured during this event as soon as we’ve confirmed with each stop on the bar crawl.”
Ticket price starts at $15 per individual. Each ticket holder will receive the bar crawl map chartering this historic drink experience and educational material to learn as they go. Featured historic drink samples during this event are exclusive to ticket holders only for a discounted price to be set by each location, ranging from $3 to $6 each.
