Boil water advisory lifted in Parkersburg

Boil water advisory lifted

PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Utility Board has ended a boil water advisory along Ann Street in Parkersburg.

The advisory for 3rd and Ann streets, from 1st to 4th streets, was issued yesterday due to a leak in a main line which caused a drop in water pressure.

“We are pleased to report that the problem has been corrected and that it is no longer necessary to boil the water before use,” the PUB said in a press release issued Tuesday afternoon. “Repairs to the damaged lines are now complete and the pressure was restored to the distribution system. Lines have been flushed and bacteriological samples were collected from the affected area and analyzed at a certified laboratory. We apologize for any inconvenience.”

The advisory was not related to the fire at the Ames plant in south Parkersburg.
