PARKERSBURG — Since 1974 Parkersburg South High School halls have been filled with the sounds of falalala and Renaissance music with the creation of the South Madrigal Ensemble.

On Saturday Oct. 7, from 1 to 4 p.m., there will be a reunion held for all those who have worn the capes and long gowns over the last 42 years. The reunion at South will include a performance by the 2017-18 Madrigals directed by Jennifer Ratliff, the fourth director of the Madrigals. Also scheduled to present is Daniel Thomas, the creator of the Madrigals and former choir and band director at South.

The idea of the reunion came about two years ago when the first Madrigal Ensemble Group held a reunion after 40 years. Many former members expressed an interest in getting back together.

The reunion will begin with a meet and greet for the first hour and then a presentation and performance.

All former members of the South Ensemble are welcome to join in the celebration.
