Parkersburg man charged with murder
A Parkersburg man has been charged with a murder that happened Sunday night.
According to records in Wood County Magistrate Court, Matthew Lee Wilson, 30, 907 33rd St., was charged with the murder of David Matthew Hill, 60, who also lived at and owned 907 33rd St. The weapon used in the crime, which occurred at the house, was a “machete-style knife,” records said.
Wilson was arraigned this morning in Wood County Magistrate Court.
He also was charged with two counts of battery of a police officer and one count each of brandishing and obstructing, according to magistrate court records.
Bond on the murder charge, because it is a capital crime, will be set by a circuit court judge.
The non-murder charges were from warrants from separate incidents, according to court records. Bond was set at $5,000 surety on those charges.
