One person arrested for meth

PARKERSBURG — The Parkersburg Narcotics Task Force this morning arrested a city man after he accepted delivery of approximately one pound of suspected methamphetamine.

Task force agents performed a controlled delivery of the package, which was found to contain suspected meth with an estimated street value of more than $45,000, according to a release from Parkersburg Police Chief Joe Martin. It was addressed to a Jeremy Tyler at 1403 Beaver St.

A man at the residence told an undercover task force agent that he was Jeremy and was waiting for a package, at which point he was told he was being detained, the release says. The suspect attempted to flee but was apprehended after a short foot pursuit.

Afterward, he was identified as Anthony M. Rowell, 33, of the Beaver Street address, the release says. He was arrested and arraigned in Wood County Magistrate Court on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Rowell is incarcerated at the North Central Regional Jail on a $250,000 bond.
