PARKERSBURG — A Belpre family involved in all aspects of independent moving making will screen its new show 6 p.m. Sunday at the Gas Light Theater in Sistersville.

“The Bungfodders Make a Horror Movie” was produced, filmed and stars Larry and Cindy Parmiter of Belpre and their 14-year-old daughter, Ashlyn.

“It’s something we love doing,” said Parmiter.

Parmiter calls the movie a mockumentary.

Bungfodders, which includes an appearance by “Gremlins” star Zach Galligan, is about a redneck family that decides to make a movie, but doesn’t know what to do, Parmiter said. The script was written by his wife.

“I write all our screenplays,” Cindy said.

Cindy also writes horror books and books about the paranormal. Her work includes “True Stories of the Paranormal” and “True Animal Tales from this World and Beyond” that are sold on amazon.com.

Her husband was the director and Ashlyn, who plays Raylene Jr. in Bungfodders, also did much of the photography and special effects, learning at an early age about how to make a movie, Cindy said.

“It’s fun,” Cindy said. “It’s something we can do as a family.”

Sunday’s show is a double feature. The other show is “The Axeman of Henderson County.”

Admission is $6. Half of the proceeds will be donated to a charity, the Sistersville Ministerial Alliance, Parmiter said.

Axeman stars professional wrestler Hacksaw Jim Duggan and Major Harris, who was a quarterback for West Virginia University.

The Parmiters also acted and directed in that movie, too. He was the director and she was the writer, and both had parts.

Axeman will soon be added to the ibleedindie.com website where it can be rented, Parmiter said. Parmiter signed the deal this past week.

The Parmiters have been making movies for about three years.

“We spend a lot more money than we make,” said Parmiter, hoping for the day when they make a lot more money than they spend.
