Local artist’s work on display

ATHENS – “More Than Sculptures and Stuff,” featuring the work of Athens artist Adam Lindner, opened Friday at ARTS/West, 132 W. State St.

The show, which runs to May 28, features new work unfamiliar to Lindner’s fans who are accustomed to his plain-air landscape paintings.

“It’s time that I release these works mostly because they are taking up work space in my studio,” said Lindner.

The exhibit is comprised of wall-hung sculptures, including “One, Flattened Metal Table” and “Wicker Chair.”

Lindner is an Athens-based artist who has nationally exhibited painting, installations and videos. His work was recently included in shows associated at the Dairy Barn Art Center and the Athens Public Library.

He has had solo exhibitions in the Creative Gallery in Cincinnati and has participated in group exhibitions at the Dairy Barn, the Creative Gallery, the Pearlman Gallery, Convergys Gallery, Chidlaw Gallery and the Mt. Adams Top of the Hill Gallery in Cincinnati.
