“We look forward to a long and successful relationship with CRI and will continue to fulfill our mission of helping seniors 60 plus and those with a chronic illness, who no longer drive, remain independent in their own homes by providing help with transportation to medical appointments, grocery shopping and other errands, light housekeeping and other chores or help with correspondence at no cost to our care receivers. FaithLink services are provided by our dedicated volunteers who are committed to our mission,” Krulicki said.
FaithLink is funded by local churches, businesses, grants and private donations.
“We are blessed by the support of the community of Wood County we serve. Donations are greatly appreciated and always welcome,” the director said.
The nonprofit organization has more than 300 clients, primarily in Wood County, and 189 volunteers who have donated more than 4,000 hours to the program.
Through the program which was formed in 1996, volunteers are trained to help the elderly, chronically ill or disabled who need assistance in order to continue living independently in their own home.
Those needing help are linked with trained community volunteers who provide assistance with non-medical services. The volunteers may transport individuals to doctor and other appointments, do light housekeeping chores, provide companionship, help with meal preparation, assistance with grocery shopping, visit, call, help out with yard work or light household chores.
