Police collecting gifts for foster children

The department is trying to fill a S.W.A.T. truck with gifts that will be wrapped and distributed by Try-Again Homes, a local non-profit foster care agency.

The gift drive is off to a good start, Sgt. Greg Collins, spokesman, said.

New and unwrapped gifts can be dropped off at the Parkersburg City Park police substation between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Donations will be accepted through Dec. 20. Volunteers and officers will be available to help with collection and coordination.
