Churches set up as sites for gift donations

PARKERSBURG – Collection points in the Parkersburg area have been announced for Operation Christmas Child, among the world’s largest Christmas projects.

Volunteers will be available to receive an expected 11,650 gift-filled shoeboxes packed by caring Parkersburg area residents with toys, school supplies, hygiene items and notes of encouragement.

Collection sites will be open during Operation Christmas Child’s National Collection Week, Nov. 1825.

* Fairlawn Baptist Church, 215 Fairlawn Drive, Parkersburg: 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Nov. 18-23 and 25, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 24.

* Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1710 23rd St., Parkersburg: 9 a.m.-11 a.m. Nov. 18, 20 and 22, 2-4 p.m., Nov. 19 and 21, 10 a.m.- noon Nov. 23, 4-6 p.m. Nov. 24, 8-10 a.m. Nov. 25.
