Belpre church to host Dog Days

BELPRE – The Belpre Heights United Methodist Church, 720 Clement Ave., will observe Dog Days in May from noon 4 p.m. May 18.

From 1:30-3 p.m., veterinarian Dr. Bea Schooley will give rabies shots for $11 and microchips for $39.

The Washington County Humane Society will collect cat, kitten, dog and puppy dry food, treats, stainless food and water bowls, leashes, Surf powdered laundry detergent, unscented bleach, office supplies including pens, clip boards, copy paper, and legal pads and tools including wrenches, Vice Grips, socket sets, hammers and screw drivers.

Dog Warden Deputy Kelly Schubert will answer questions about animals and the laws. A demonstration will be performed by Luke Johnson with his police dog.

Bring well-behaved animals on leashes or in cages.
