Greater Parkersburg Convention and Visitors Bureau distributes new guide

PARKERSBURG — The Greater Parkersburg Convention and Visitors Bureau has started distributing its new 2019 visitors guide.

The 72-page full-color 5.5-by-8.5 inch digest size book is filled with information about the greater Parkersburg area and highlights the history and heritage of the region, off-the-beaten-path points of interest and arts and entertainment, among other attractions.

The guide also includes updated listings of area attractions, accommodations, shops, special events, restaurants, meeting sites, visitor services and updated full-color maps. Fifty thousand copies were printed and are being used in:

* Direct mail campaigns to selected 2018-19 inquiries

* Fulfillment of 2019 individual inquiries

* Supplying the WV Welcome Centers and other outlets

* Trade, travel shows and stocking local racks

* Supplying conferences and other groups meeting in the area

The visitors guide is the primary piece used by the Greater Parkersburg Convention and Visitors Bureau to fulfill information requests from its 800 number and website, bulk requests, direct mailings and reader responses to advertisements. It is also the only local visitor guide distributed through the West Virginia Welcome Center in Williamstown.

The guide was produced by the Stonewall Group in Marietta and printed by Chapman Printing in Parkersburg.
