Charlotte Russe closing all stores
VIENNA — Charlotte Russe, which has a store in the Grand Central Mall, announced Thursday it will close all of its stores in the next two months.
The company said the online store has closed and all stores will hold a going-out-of-business sale. Sales will be final, the company said.
Opening in 1975, Charlotte Russe went into bankruptcy protection in February. It had 8,700 employees at the time of filing and stores in every state but Alaska.
Charlotte Russe joins Payless Shoe Source and Sears that have in recent months closed stores around the country and at the Grand Central Mall.
“Retail brands come and go as has always been the case in the retail industry,” said Jody Hopkins, general manager of the Grand Central Mall. “Our leasing team is working to find a replacement and we are encouraged that the Sears redevelopment is generating increased interest for space at Grand Central Mall.”
