Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce plans multiple events for February

MARIETTA — The Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce will hold several programs this month.

Boost Your Business workshop will be held 8:30-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Huntington Bank, 226 Third St.

The topic is “Understanding Cash Flow vs. Profitability” with featured speaker John Voorhies of the Small Business Development Center.

Boost Your Business is a monthly workshop hosted by Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce where the discussion is geared toward helping businesses and increasing sales.

Light breakfast refreshments and coffee will be provided by Huntington Bank on Third Street in Marietta. The event is free and open to the public. RSVP by emailing

Coffee Chat will be held 8:30-9:30 a.m. Feb. 22 in the chamber Conference Room, 100 Front St., Suite 200. The event is free.

The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council will meet 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 20 with registration at 11:30 a.m. and the program beginning at noon.

The topic is “Trucking and Terrorism” with featured speaker Timothy Dimoff, CEO of SACS Consulting Security and Investigative Services of Akron.

The cost of the meeting is $15 for Safety Council members (includes lunch). Membership in Safety Council is open to representatives of business and industry in the Mid-Ohio Valley interested in improving safety awareness in the work place.

The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council is a program of the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce co-sponsored by the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation Division of Safety and Hygiene. Companies can earn up to 4 percent rebate on their workers compensation premium through participation in the Safety Council.

The Professional Women’s Roundtable will meet noon to 1 p.m. Feb. 27 at Da Vinci’s, 215 Highland Ave., Williamstown.

The topic is “Being Prepared to Care for Your Elderly” with featured speakers, Laura Miller, Glenwood Community, and Amanda Stotts, Harmar Place Rehabilitation and Extended Care.

The Professional Women’s Roundtable is an opportunity for area professional and business women to meet and discuss issues and share ideas. The cost of each meeting is $10 for members and $15 for the general public, which includes lunch.
