Comfort Keepers marks 20 years

MARIETTA — Comfort Keepers, a provider of in-home care for seniors and other adults, is celebrating its 20th anniversary.

The company was founded in 1998 by Kristina Butler, a registered nurse working in home health in Springfield, Ohio.

Butler observed the negative impact on her patients when they went without homemaking and personal care assistance. She took it upon herself to design a solution that would allow seniors to receive services at home – a solution that she called Comfort Keepers.

Comfort Keepers comprises a network of franchises across the nation and around the world, including Comfort Keepers in the Mid-Ohio Valley, which is owned and operated by David and Joanie Yeomans.

The Yeomans have provided more than 1 million hours of service in the area to more than 1,600 families and have received local and national awards for quality and achievements, including 13 Readers’ Choice Awards from the local newspapers and the 2017 Small Business of the Year from the Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce.

The company is celebrating the 20th Anniversary by giving appreciation gifts to clients and staff.

“We are very proud of the growth and success of the Comfort Keepers brand over the last twenty years and our local ownership for the last 14 years,” David Yeomans said. “The hard work is truly repaid at the end of each day when we settle in at home knowing that our service team has made a difference in the lives of so many. And knowing that we are part of an even larger network of caring people makes it even more rewarding.”
