Marcellus and Manufacturing Development Conference slated for April 16-17
MORGANTOWN — The 2018 Marcellus and Manufacturing Development Conference will be held April 16-17 at the Marriott Waterfront Place Hotel in Morgantown.
The conference, sponsored by the West Virginia Manufacturers Association, will feature a natural gas expo sponsored by the Independent Oil and Gas Association of West Virginia and the West Virginia Oil and Natural Gas Association. The expo will provide an opportunity to visit booths and interact with industry leaders and innovators.
Speakers and a panel of experts in their fields will cover topics including pipeline project updates and new regulatory policy. Representatives will discuss issues facing manufacturers in the Appalachian region, such as infrastructure, taxes, environmental concerns, capital investments, training initiatives and cracker and downstream site selection opportunities.
Notable speakers will include Steve Winberg of the U.S. Department of Energy, Ken Nemeth of the Southern States Energy Board, Ron Whitfield of IHS Markit Economics and state Commerce Secretary H. Wood “Woody” Thrasher.
“We are pleased to be able to present such a dynamic program for the seventh year in a row. The oil and natural gas industry provides a foundation for downstream manufacturing that will lift our regional economy to new heights, if we act now to maximize the benefits of the resource,” said association President Rebecca McPhail. “We are pleased that more than 250 industry, community, and political leaders will come together to discuss this next chapter of development. This is certainly not an event to be missed.”
