Vaughan named Main Street Ripley director

RIPLEY — The new program director for Main Street Ripley is Lisa Vaughn.

Main Street is a state and national organization with goals of restoring and revitalizing downtown districts. Ripley is one of 14 Main Street programs across West Virginia.

Vaughn’s family moved to Jackson County three years ago. She is a Lewisburg native. “I have grown to love our small town and community,” she said. “Keeping this town full of activity through various events is important to me and my family.”

Vaughn was introduced to Ripley by volunteering for the Turn This Town Around community improvement effort in 2015. She looks forward to meeting with business owners, civic groups and organizations as she plans events such as Ripley’s On Sale . . . Believe It or Not!, Small Business Saturday, and the recent Main Street Ripley Car Show.

Retiring Program Director Pam Jones and the Main Street Board of Directors are making for a smooth transition, according to Vaughn. Current officers are Chair Sally Blessing, Vice Chair Ron Waybright, Treasurer Larry Chancey and Secretary Ceason Ranson.

Vaughn earned her college degree with honors in economics from Elon University in North Carolina.
