Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council to hold seminar
MARIETTA — The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council will hold a half-day seminar on silica dust and new Occupational Safety and Health Administration standards 8:30 a.m. to noon Oct. 24 at Washington State Community College, Graham Auditorium. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
The seminar will also count toward rebate eligibility or if a company needs to take a two-hour training session for Workers Compensation Group.
Featured speakers are: Emily Lauderback, industrial hygienist, Department of Labor-OSHA Columbus Area Office; and Melissa Linton, compliance assistance specialist, U.S. Department of Labor-OSHA Columbus Area Office.
The cost of the seminar is $25 for MOVSC and Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce members, $30 for the general public, and includes a light breakfast.
Membership in Safety Council is open to representatives of business and industry in the Mid-Ohio Valley interested in improving safety awareness in the work place.
The safety council will meet 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Oct. 18 at the Marietta Shrine Club at 249 Pennsylvania Ave. in Marietta. Registration begins at 11:30 a.m. and the program begins at noon.
The topic for the month is Mindfulness and Resiliency with featured speaker Katy Tombaugh.
The cost of the meeting is $15 for safety council members (includes lunch). Membership in Safety Council is open to representatives of business and industry in the Mid-Ohio Valley interested in improving safety awareness in the work place.
The Mid-Ohio Valley Safety Council is a program of the Marietta Area Chamber of Commerce co-sponsored by the Ohio Bureau of Workers Compensation Division of Safety and Hygiene. The annual membership fee is $50 per company.
