Market Street Merchants and Artists Walk to be held

Downtown Parkersburg event Friday

PARKERSBURG — The first Market Street Merchants and Artists Walk in downtown Parkersburg will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, featuring over 20 retail shops, restaurants, offices and services along with local and regional artists.

Downtown PKB and Artsbridge are partners in sponsoring the event and have secured locations along the route, offering a celebration of art, music, and craftsmanship in a growing downtown shopping, dining and business district. A variety of music, visual and performing arts will be showcased at every stop.

The event is designed to join shopping, eating and the arts in a fun event for all ages. Each site has invited an artist to present his or her work for display and/or sale, while guests enjoy the artists’ displays.

Artsbridge, at 935 Market St., will host a vendor showcase with a wide array of shopping opportunities. Participating shops will be open from 6-8 p.m. Friday. Maps will be available along the route beginning with the Conley Office at 1130 Market St. and ending at the Point Park Marketplace.

The Walk will end at Point Park Marketplace with a free live performance from the MIXX Band from 8-10 p.m.
