PARKERSBURG — The Camden Clark Medical Center and the American Cancer Center recently celebrated six years in partnership at the ACS Cancer Resource Center (CRC) located in the WVU Cancer Institute in CCMC’s Medical Office Building B Suite 130 on Garfield Avenue.

The CRC is staffed by volunteers each week 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, most of whom are cancer survivors themselves.

The highly trained volunteers help patients and their caregivers cope and conquer the challenges brought on by the disease of cancer by offering cancer-related information, day-to-day help and emotional support to cancer patients, survivors and caregivers.

The CRC provides free wigs, brochures, clinical trial matching services, assistance with concerns (finances, insurance and transportation), referral to local community resources, connection to others who have experienced cancer for support, online community support, cancer education classes, and more.

The Cancer Resource Center is a free program offered by the American Cancer Society and Camden Clark Medical Center. No referral is needed.

If someone is interested in cancer resources or would like to volunteer, they an call 304-424-2137.
