Popeyes in Vienna to hold ribbon cutting on Monday
VIENNA — GPS Hospitality, one of the nation’s largest Burger King® and Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen franchisees, will mark the grand opening of its first Popeyes in West Virginia with a ribbon cutting ceremony 9 a.m. Monday at 311 Grand Central Ave.
Representatives from the city and the Mid-Ohio Valley Chamber of Commerce will be on hand for the ceremony with Mike Kovac, vice president of operations, and Curt Oxyer, director of operations of GPS Hospitality. The new restaurant signifies GPS Hospitality’s commitment to providing great service and flavorful food to the Mid-Ohio Valley, the company said.
Popeyes, the world’s second-largest quick-service chicken chain, has provided New Orleans flavors for over 40 years. Known for infusing French Quarter tradition into its architectural design and cuisine, the variety of Louisiana-inspired menu items will complement the building’s bold design and ambiance, officials said.
“We look forward to welcoming residents to our brand-new restaurant just minutes away from Grand Central Mall. We hope guests are ready to enjoy our quality Cajun-flavored food and unmistakable New Orleans ambiance,” said J.J. Jaso, the restaurant’s general manager.
Celebrating corporate citizenship and the importance of becoming active members of the community, GPS Hospitality held invitation-only tasting events with first responders and nearby school administrators and teachers prior to Monday’s public grand opening.
The new quick-service restaurant will seat 60 in its dining room from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
“GPS Hospitality is ready to spice up the area’s cuisine,” said Tom Garrett, CEO of GPS Hospitality. “We’re very excited to open our first Popeyes restaurant in West Virginia and invite our guests to experience the tastes, sights and sounds of New Orleans.”
The new Vienna restaurant joins more than 230 Burger Kings and Popeyes owned nationwide by GPS Hospitality, including 12 Burger King restaurants in West Virginia.
The new Popeyes is accepting applications for positions and applicants are encouraged to stop by the restaurant in person to apply with a manager.
