WesBanco announces scholarship recipients
PARKERSBURG – WesBanco’s Trust Department announces the awarding of four full four-year scholarships from the Tippens Scholarship funds.
* Ryder Deem is a graduate of Williamstown High School who is pursuing his higher education at West Virginia University in the Engineering Department. With his excellent math skills an engineering degree seemed the natural path to take for his vocation, WesBanco said. He was president of the Student Body his senior year and served on many committees through school and in the community. Volunteering is an important aspect of his life, he said. Deem is the son of Teri Roberts and Robert Deem.
* Kacy Dawn Harmon graduated from Parkersburg High School and will enter West Virginia University’s Honor College in the fall. She will pursue an education degree to fulfill her dream of becoming an elementary school teacher. Harmon has been active in community volunteerism and school activities as well as being on the soccer and cross country teams. She is the daughter of Ronald and Tammy Harmon.
* Payton Sturm graduated from Parkersburg Catholic High School and is entering West Virginia University in the fall where he will major in Athletic Coaching Education. Athletics have always been an important part of his life with basketball his favorite sport. He has volunteered on the community service level as well as school activities. Sturm is the son of Doug and Leanne Sturm.
* Rachel Tennant graduated from Parkersburg Catholic High School and will enter the Nursing Program at Marshall University to obtain a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Throughout her school career she has volunteered and been an active member of her school community. Tennant played varsity basketball, softball, soccer and volleyball. Her faith is a guiding force in her life. Tennant is the daughter of Daniel and Judith Tennant.
